We take time today to pray for the powerful and courageous efforts of mothers … thanks for all you do!

Today’s Key Verses: For I am mindful of the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am sure that it is in you as well. (2 Timothy 1:5)

A woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple fabrics, a worshiper of God, was listening; and the Lord opened her heart to respond to the things spoken by Paul. And when she and her household had been baptized, she urged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay.” And she prevailed upon us. (Acts 16:14-15)

Pray For Families: Pray that God gives single moms courage and faith to trust Him with their children. Pray that they will prayerfully and wisely use their influence to help their children to live for Christ.

Pray For Courageous: Pray for key leaders across the country who have formed Action Squads to bring COURAGEOUS to their communities. May they be a blessing to all who will now see the movie because of their effort.

Just three weeks from today, COURAGEOUS opens in theaters across the nation. If that doesn’t bring you to your knees …

Today’s Key Verse: Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life. (Proverbs 4:23)

Pray For Families: Pray that men will guard the hearts of their daughters and sons from harmful influences and wrong relationships and help them to give their hearts to the Lord.

Pray For Courageous: Pray that the thousands of ministry and community leaders who have seen COURAGEOUS at pre-screenings will be diligent to use their influence to promote COURAGEOUS and strengthen families in their communities.

We are reminded today that we are called to not repay evil for evil. Instead, we can become chain breakers …

Today’s Key Verse: Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “vengeance is mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. “But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.  Romans 12:17-21

Pray For Families: Pray that men will become chain breakers, forgive their dads, make peace with their enemies, and then leave a strong legacy of faithfulness to their children.

Pray For Courageous: Pray that the word-of-mouth buzz about COURAGEOUS continues to grow on Facebook, Twitter, blogs, and email as we near the September 30 release.

As the great hymn reminds us: “On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand …”

Today’s Key Verse: “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”  (Matthew 7:24-27)

Pray For Families: Pray that men and women in our generation will build their homes on the rock of obedience to Christ’s commands so that their families can stand strong during the storms of life.

Pray For Courageous: Pray for God to bring a breakthrough in the media that will bring about a lot of strong international buzz for COURAGEOUS.

We look to God’s Word as our inspiration and our guidance in praying for the impact of COURAGEOUS.

Today’s Key Verses: This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. (Joshua 1:8)

Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You. (Psalms 119:11)

Pray For Families: Pray for our generation to begin to memorize passages of Scripture so we will be careful to do all God created us to do for Him with our lives.

Pray For Courageous: Pray for God to give COURAGEOUS favor in both mainstream and Christian media so that major news organizations are talking about it.

Pray For Families: Pray for God to raise up a new generation of men who will walk in integrity, treat others with kindness, keep their promises, and become examples of faithfulness for their families.

Pray For Courageous: Pray for churches to rise up and reach out to community leaders and law enforcement officers in their cities through Courageous.

As we gather with our church families today, thank you for taking time to pray for COURAGEOUS. We hope the movie serves your church well.

Pray For Families: Pray for men to recognize areas of their lives where they are following foolish counsel and avoid them.  Pray that they would develop a love for God’s Word and begin to read it, study it and meditate on what it says.

Pray For Courageous: Pray that God overwhelms men with His truth, holiness, love, and mercy while they watch the movie.

Today’s Key Verse: Praise the LORD! How blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Who greatly delights in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Psalm (112:1-2)

Pray For Families: Pray that fathers would learn to respect, fear, and take God very seriously in their minds and hearts. Pray that their descendants will then live mightily for the Lord on the earth and also pass on their faith so that following generations will be blessed.

Pray For Courageous: Pray for key leaders across the country that have stepped up in faith to form Action Squads to bring Courageous to their towns as a way to impact their community. Also pray for the Action Squads that have already purchased show times for Opening Weekend.

Pray For Courageous: Pray for courage, strength, direction, and protection for Michael Catt, Jim McBride, Alex Kendrick, Stephen Kendrick, Terry Hemmings, Ben Howard, Kris Fuhr, Steve Birsch, and Lisa Jean and as they make key decisions daily in the days leading up to and then throughout the Courageous theatrical run.

It’s September … opening month for COURAGEOUS! May we pray earnestly throughout this month for families to be impacted by the message of this movie.

Pray For Families: Pray that men would forgive their own dads for any wounds or wrong influences from the past and then begin to set a new example by becoming the dad for their children they wished they’d had.

Pray For Courageous: Pray that God will speak to each Courageous movie viewer’s heart with the exact message he or she needs to hear at that moment.
