Monday morning begins in the parking lot of a factory in Albany, Georgia. This is the gathering place for the Courageous cast and crew as they embark on a seven-week production journey.
Yet before any equipment is unloaded and any scenes are filmed, the team gathers for the first of 35 devotionals that will remind them daily to whom this movie really belongs.
Pastor Michael Catt leads the first devotional, exhorting team members to pray for one another throughout the filming process. “You have to have each others’ backs, and you need to be praying the best for each other. We need the hand of God on all of this.”
And thus begins the first Sherwood movie since FIREPROOF. Focusing on the importance of fatherhood, Courageous is the story of four law enforcement officers committed to making a difference in their families.
Today’s scenes were all filmed at Coats & Clark, the largest yarn and crochet thread factory in the U.S. Workers at the factory served as extras during one of the scenes, and plant manager Bobby Boone will be prominently seen in the film.
After watching what was shot on Monday, producer Stephen Kendrick was pleased with not only the look of the film, but also the acting.
“It feels really good to see God confirm on the set what He was telling us to do in the auditions,” he says. “It was great way to start!”
I absolutely love the fact that men are being focused on in this film. Now, in society, the role of men have been deleted from families. The mentality that surround our children today is that we don’t need husbands and/ or fathers. Women and girls are giving birth to babies without the presence of fathers for their children. Men are easily swayed away from their responsibilities. We need to get back to the family as it should be, the way God intended it to be.
I pray that this film touches the hearts of those who think and feel this way. I [ray that society begins to see the important role of men in our families. Women cannot and were not meant to raise children alone!!!

I will be following this blog with great interest.
I throughely enjoyed all the other movies and pray that God will use this New film to bring many people in to a saveing knowledge of Him.
God Bless you all.
(Salmos 27:1).
I wonder how it came about that you filmed at the Coats & Clark factory as apposed to another one. I was shocked to find out that the next Sherwood movie was being filmed where I work and where I have been sowing seeds of prayer for my co-workers to be saved and for a mighty move of God. Maybe this film will be watched by the people at Coats because of the one scene that was filmed there. Maybe my co-workers will be saved and/or transformed as they here the gospel and see it lived out in this movie.
Hi, I can’t wait to see the movie……i am praying that this movie will impact lives!
Thanks to all for sharing your love for Jesus with us through the movies. The movies have been a blessing in my life. I will continue to pray for all of you and know that the LORD is looking down on you with great joy.
